Year 6 into 7 Transition for September 2025

Please find below links and information regarding transition for a September 2025 start

The Transition days for Nene Park Academy are Wednesday 2nd July and Thursday 3rd of July 2025. Current year 6 pupils who have accepted a place at Nene Park Academy should arrive between 8.15 & 8.30 to either the front gate (off Oundle Road) or back gate (Orton Longueville Wood) of school.  Please see the map below. Current NPA students will be at the gates to guide year 6 to the main hall). If a student arrives after 8.30, the main reception at the front of school is the only available access into school.

  • Pupils should arrive in school PE kit or similar.
  • Pupils should bring a packed lunch (if you are in receipt of free school meals, please use this link to leave details and we shall make the necessary arrangements). https://forms.office.com/e/cGwXaMmMfZ ).
  • Each day will end at 2.45 pm and pupils will be escorted to either the front or back gate.  Parents should not come onto the school site.

Please note that all vehicles should drop off at the turning circle immediately off Oundle Road below the POSH dome.  Please see the map below.

On the Wednesday evening, starting at 6 pm there will be a presentation from Mr Grover, the Principal, a session where pupils and parents meet their new tutor and a session to view our uniform, take refreshments and see our Session Six Programme.

A small number of parents have not yet completed the Data Collection Form (DCF) giving us details about your child, along with emergency contact details and medical information.  We do require this information well in advance of the transition days. You will have received instructions on how to complete this from Mr Sarro, in an email. If you experience issues completing this, please email achievementteam@neneparkacademy.org.

We are actively collecting information from the primary schools about your child and once collected we will be working on pupil allocations to houses and tutor groups. Pupils are allocated across our six houses following a strict protocol to give a spread of gender, ability and needs. Where we have been notified through your application, siblings of existing students go into the same house.  We share the outcome of these decisions with you in our next communication.  This will then indicate the house colours for tie and jumpers, etc.
