It is statistically proven that Parents and Guardians are extremely influential when it comes to the decision each child makes for their education and future aspirations. Choices on offer today are very different to what they were when you were at the same stage. You may feel unsure, or you may think you have a clear idea, either way the below sites are to offer advice and guidance so any information you share with your child is up to date and relevant.

Target Careers – Parent info – Advice and tips for parents to support their children

NEACO – Parent Guidance  – Advice for parents on Apprenticeships, Higher Education, Finance and Events

National Careers Service – a comprehensive careers website with job profiles, outlining: the skills required, main tasks, pay levels and career prospects for hundreds of different jobs. In addition, valuable guidance on the different stages involved in getting a job.

Apprenticeships – a website for anyone wanting to know more about apprenticeships.  The website has a search facility for job specific apprenticeships in a particular area.

Icould – helpfulvideos about a wide range of job roles

UCAS – a very helpful website for students thinking of applying to higher education.   Also contains valuable information on different options, including apprenticeships

Unifrog  -This is our in-school Careers platform. All students should be regularly accessing this. Unifrog contains information on Careers, Subjects, Apprenticeships, Universities, CV’s, Employment plus much more. This is a site for every single student regardless of their preferred pathway. Parents can access this site too see what their children can see.

Not Going To Uni: Apprenticeships & Work Experience in the UK – Not going to Uni is a great site to support students and parents with next steps.
