The school football teams had their final matches of the season this week and I’m pleased to report that we had another good season.
The Year 10 and Year 11 boys teams both proved to be the best in city and surrounding area by winning the Peterborough Cup for their age groups. The Under 15 girls team won the Premier League tournament, involving a number of local schools. The Year 8 boys team also made the Peterborough Cup final for their age group, and the Sixth Form boys suffered an agonising penalty shoot-out defeat in their Peterborough Cup semi-final. If you add to this strong performances in the National Cup competitions, most notably a long run to the quarter finals for the Year 10 boys, it has been a very good season for our students.
We will celebrate the achievements of our footballers and all other sports that we have competed in this year at our Sports Awards Evening on Thursday 21st June.
A public thank you to all staff who selflessly give up their time to run teams, giving our students the opportunity to play their favourite sports as well as represent the school. The Rounders and Cricket seasons are now underway!
