The Reporting System

The Department of Education introduced a new accountability system in October 2016

In Brief, the new performance measures are designed to encourage schools to offer a broad and balanced curriculum with a focus towards raising individual pupil performance and as such improving the performance of a school in both the local and national performance tables.  (An increase in every grade in every subject that a pupil achieves will attract additional points in the school performance tables)

The pages on the left explain how the national assessments are measured and reported and also how NPA will be reporting the progress of its students to ensure that they achieve their best from their time with us.

Students are now assessed against both their attainment and progress and these are reported in an Attainment 8 and a Progress 8 figure.

GCSE grades are changing from A*-G to a new system of 9 – 1.
