NPA – Summerfest 2018 update

· From Kevin Hartley

Good afternoon

As you will be aware we had a contingency plan should England reach the semi-final of the World Cup, and cause a clash with this year’s Summerfest. Much to our surprise, this is now the case. However, our plan to reschedule the event to 5pm has raised other issues with staff, students and parents. We have also found our ticket sales to be very sluggish and we are far from sold out, as we were at this point last year.

As such, we have had discussions in school, and consulted some parents, and taken the decision to postpone Wednesday’s event. There are no viable evenings available to us before the end of term and so we will now hold Summerfest 2018 on Monday afternoon (16th July), in school, beginning at 1pm. Our audience will be made up of invited students from each House, but we will reserve some seats for any parents who are able to come along at that time to see the show.

All tickets sold so far will be refunded, either via our school reception, or online; my understanding is that refunds take between 7 to 10 days to appear back in accounts. Tickets for Monday’s performance will be free and we will set up a new booking for this event which will be available online, or from the school reception, as soon as possible.

Our rehearsals will take place this week as planned. We also aim to film the event so that performances can be viewed online.

We recognise that this decision may be disappointing and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are however confident that Summerfest 2018 will be a great event and will showcase our talented youngsters in front of a full audience next Monday.

Regards
