Celebrating Achievement

Nene Park Academy regularly celebrates the success and achievements of its students in a variety of different ways.

- Weekly Principal's Award: NPA staff submit fortnightly nominations to the Principal for the students they feel should win the Principal's Award. Nominations will range from effort in class, quality of work/homework, sporting achievements, work in the community and charitable work, to name but a few. The award winners are then invited to meet with the Principal for a chat about their successes and to enjoy some light refreshments as well as being awarded 100 Vivo points for their efforts. A formal certificate is then posted home for parents to pass on their own, personal congratulations.

- Vivo Miles:  Vivo Miles is an award-winning rewards platform for schools which allows teachers to award students electronic points called “Vivos”, redeemable on a wide selection of rewards from a customisable catalogue.

Reward card

Unique to the scheme is the Vivo rewards card, which every student gets and loves. The card and the scheme’s currency - the Vivo - go beyond conventional stickers and stars to offer a real-life vehicle for financial learning because students save and spend Vivos on their choice of rewards (and develop their financial capability in the process).

Vivo Awards is a system that has proven its ability to increase student motivation, improve behaviour, attendance and achievement as well as encourage parent engagement.

- Celebration Assemblies: are run by each House at the end of every term where a broad range of student achievement is recognised and various awards are presented.

- Presentation Evenings: NPA holds formal Presentation Evenings on an annual basis to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of its students. Two such evenings are the Sports Presentation Evening which, in 2012, was held at The POSH Club with Darren Ferguson being the Guest of Honour, and the GCSE Presentation Evening where the Guest Speaker for 2013 was John Hall, Head of Operations and Logistics, British Antarctic Survey and Trustee of Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT).
